
This is an example of a Heyn carousel horse that we have recently restored in our own workshop.
Before
Although the horse looks reasonably ok, almost all of the body and leg joins were loose, and also the horse had many layers of additional paint, so that most of the detail in the carving was lost. The picture below shows the horse stripped of its paint and also partly disassembled.
Once the horse was reassembled, stopped and primed, it was painted to a suitable colour scheme choosen by its new owner.
