A rare and unusual 'Chestnut' swing stand rocking horse made by

J & G Lines of London, circa 1885.

Dimensions: 38inches to top of head.  40inches maximum length.

This rocking horse is generally in an original condition, with only minor

retouching of the paint work. Some new harness and mane and tail have brought

it up to a very presentable standard and usable rocking horse. 

The top plate, (shown above) are stamped with the manufacturers initials.

 

     

The stand is stenciled 'PATENTED JAN 29 1880' and the horse has

a 'Thisle' brass rosette on its chest.
